Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever beat Connecticut Sun 111-91 before FIBA World Cup break

Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell each scored 34 points as the Indiana Fever defeated the Connecticut Sun 111-91, extending their franchise record for 100-point games in a season to 19.

The Indiana Fever closed out the pre-break portion of their schedule with a 111-91 victory over the Connecticut Sun, powered by a dominant second-quarter surge and a record-setting performance from their star backcourt duo.

Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell each scored 34 points in the win, with Clark adding 12 assists. The performance marked the fourth time this season the pair has each scored 30 or more points in the same game, extending a WNBA record for teammates in a single season. Mitchell's output also moved her into the league lead in total points scored this year.

The Sun came out strong on the road, building a 28-19 lead after the first quarter. Connecticut entered the game with just 10 wins on the season but looked sharp early. The Fever responded decisively in the second quarter, outscoring the Sun 39-15 to take a 58-43 lead into halftime.

The third quarter featured a highlight-reel assist from Clark to Mitchell, one of 12 on the night for the Fever guard. Indiana maintained control through the second half, securing their 19th game this season with 100 or more points, a franchise record.

The win extends Indiana's momentum as the WNBA pauses for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Players heading to the tournament will join their national teams, while others get a short break before the final stretch of the regular season.

Indiana has four games remaining on their regular-season schedule. Their next contest is scheduled for Sept. 18 on the road against the Toronto Tempo.
