Cronkite opens its pages to columnists

Anyone can now write a regular column in Cronkite. The publication has joined Columnist, a service of the Mosaic network where authors write, pick a section and publish their pieces themselves.

Alongside the newsroom’s own reporting, Cronkite now carries pieces by people who want to speak to readers in their own name: specialists, public figures, journalists, and anyone with something to say.

To become a columnist, sign up at columnist.mib.news, fill in an author profile, choose the publication and a section, and write. The editors approve the first piece once, by hand; after that, authors publish on their own. Each column appears in Cronkite’s own layout, under the author’s name, and can be corrected after it goes live.

The rules are the same for everyone: no advertising and no outside links in the text, one piece for one publication, and at least 300 words. All columns are collected under Columns, and everything you need to know before your first one is on the Become a columnist page.
