Karoline Leavitt Joins Fox News as Contributor After White House Exit

Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News Channel as an on-air contributor starting Nov. 1, the network announced Monday, following her departure from the Trump administration in August.

Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News Channel as an on-air contributor, the network announced Monday, marking a return to the broadcaster where she once interned a decade ago. Leavitt, 29, will provide commentary across the Fox News lineup beginning Nov. 1.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement that Leavitt's firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of the current political landscape. Scott added that the network looks forward to her providing audiences with authentic and sharp insight across all Fox News Media platforms.

Leavitt said she was grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the network's team. She said she looks forward to bringing her unique perspective from her experience as White House press secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined her tenure, to Fox's millions of viewers across its many platforms.

Leavitt served as the 36th White House press secretary during President Donald Trump's second administration, holding the role from January 2025 until August 2026. At 29, she became the youngest person to hold the position in history. As the administration's chief spokesperson, she regularly addressed the White House press corps and represented the administration on a wide range of domestic and foreign policy issues, developing a reputation as an unwavering messenger of the president's agenda.

Before joining the administration, Leavitt worked as a spokesperson for MAGA Inc. and later joined Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. She also worked in Trump's first administration as a presidential writer and assistant press secretary. In 2022, she ran as the Republican candidate for Congress in her home state of New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District and served as communications director for then-House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik.

Leavitt confirmed her departure from the White House in August in a lengthy post on X, describing it as a bittersweet decision. She said she had concluded she could not balance the demands of serving as press secretary with being the mother she wants to be to her two young children. Trump subsequently said she would leave the press secretary role and become an outside adviser.

Her move to Fox News follows a familiar path for former administration officials who transition into television commentary after leaving government. Leavitt's hiring adds a prominent voice with direct experience at the highest levels of the Trump White House to the network's roster of contributors.

Leavitt graduated from Saint Anselm College in 2019 with a degree in politics and communication. She interned at Fox News during the 2016 presidential election. She resides in New Hampshire with her husband, Nick, and their two young children.
